When Dr. Grace Lord arrives for her first day of work on station Nelson Mandela, she's attacked by a sick soldier maddened by a mysterious drug. She survives, but her troubles don't end there; a deadly microbe is spreading through the facility and she and her unit are all in danger. Even her android assistant, Bud, who shadows her incessantly, can sense the doom in the air.
